For the Puffs:
- 1/2 cup (120ml) water π§

For the Banana Cream Filling:
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed π
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream πΆ
- 1/4 cup (50g) sugar π
- 1 tsp vanilla extract πΌ
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk π₯
- 2 tbsp cornstarch π½
For the Topping:
- Powdered sugar for dusting π₯
- Optional: Chocolate drizzle π«
Instructions
Prepare the Puffs:
- Preheat your oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, milk, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, add the flour all at once, stirring vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly (about 5 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.
- Spoon or pipe the dough onto the prepared baking sheet in small mounds.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puffs are golden brown and puffed up. Let them cool completely on a wire rack.
2. Make the Banana Cream Filling:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together mashed bananas, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a small saucepan, heat the milk until it begins to steam.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch with a little cold water to form a slurry, then add it to the warm milk, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Remove from heat and cool slightly, then fold the thickened milk into the banana mixture. Chill the filling in the refrigerator for about an hour.
3. Assemble the Cream Puffs:
- Once the puffs are cool, slice them in half horizontally.
- Spoon or pipe the banana cream filling into the bottom halves of the puffs.
- Place the top halves on the filled bottoms to create your cream puffs.
- Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with chocolate if desired.
