Chocolate Peanut Butter Bliss Spread: My Go-To Treat in a Jar
I have to confess, I’m completely obsessed with this simple little recipe. One afternoon, I was craving something sweet but didn’t want to bake or spend forever in the kitchen. I peeked in my pantry, saw my trusty jar of peanut butter, some cocoa powder, and a bottle of honey, and thought, why not mix them together? What came out of that spontaneous experiment has since become one of my favorite homemade treats: Chocolate Peanut Butter Spread.
It’s rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced between sweet and salty, like the best parts of a peanut butter cup, but smoother and more wholesome.
Making it couldn’t be easier. I start by mixing the peanut butter and cocoa powder until they blend into a silky, chocolatey base. Then I stir in the honey, vanilla, and salt. Sometimes I’ll taste and tweak, a little more honey if I’m in the mood for something dessert-like, or a bit more cocoa for a deeper flavor.
Once it’s just right, I spoon it into small jars and seal them up. It keeps beautifully in the fridge (if it lasts that long!).
I love spreading it on toast, dipping apple slices in it, or swirling it into oatmeal. Honestly, I’ve even eaten a spoonful straight from the jar, it’s that good.
Lately, I’ve started making extra batches and giving them as gifts. I tie a bit of ribbon around each jar and add a little handwritten tag, something simple like “Made with love (and a little chocolate!)”. Friends and family absolutely adore it, and it’s such a fun, thoughtful way to share a homemade treat that feels special but is incredibly easy to make.
It’s quick, comforting, and makes for a sweet gift from your kitchen to someone’s day. If you’re a chocolate and peanut butter fan like me, this one’s definitely worth sharing, in more ways than one.
