Round tortilla chips (the thicker, the better!)
Refried beans (or black beans, if you prefer)
Shredded cheese (cheddar or a Mexican blend is perfect)
Diced tomatoes
Sliced jalapeños (optional, for a kick!)
Chopped green onions
Sour cream and guacamole for topping
Instructions
Prep the Chips: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lay out your tortilla chips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper – give each chip some space!
Layer the Beans: Add a small spoonful of refried beans onto each chip. The beans will act as the “glue” to keep everything together!
Cheese Time: Sprinkle a little bit of shredded cheese on each chip. This is where the magic happens – melty cheese is everything! 🧀
Add the Extras: Top with a piece of tomato, a slice of jalapeño (if you’re up for it 🌶️), and some green onion.
Bake: Pop the baking sheet in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and gooey. Keep an eye on them to make sure they don’t burn!
Finish with Toppings: Once out of the oven, add a tiny dollop of sour cream or a bit of guacamole on each chip for that final touch. 🥑
