Description

Enjoy the perfect balance of sweetness, creaminess, and warmth in every comforting bite!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread, preferably day-old
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

Cut the French bread into 1-inch cubes. Spread half of the cubes in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cut cream cheese into small cubes and add them over the ayer of bread cubes in the baking dish.
Sprinkle the blueberries evenly over the cream cheese cubes.
Place the remaining bread cubes on top of the blueberries, creating a second layer.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread layers, ensuring that all bread cubes are soaked in the mixture.
Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture overnight. This allows the bread to absorb the custard, resulting in a rich and flavorful bake.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the baking dish from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 15 minutes. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
Let the Blueberry Cream Cheese French Toast Bake cool for a few minutes before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with a drizzle of maple syrup.
