30 Breads to Bake Before You Die: The World’s Best Sourdough, Croissants, Focaccia, Bagels, Pita, and More from Your Favorite Bakers (Including Dominique Ansel, Duff Goldman, and Deb Perelman)

This is a beautiful cookbook of famous-baker-backed baking recipes that offer a wide range of seemingly high-end bakes made simple for non-pros like me (and maybe you, too)! I am more of a cook than a baker, yet I love how baked goods last longer and seem to offer so capture so much love and bring so much happiness to my family and loved ones. Each recipe comes from a baker you’ve probably heard of (e.g., the matzo crackers from Duff Goldman) and most are recipes for breads I’ve bought before — and loved — but didn’t realize that I could make them myself. So it’s a fun book to experiment with while creating future family favorites! My husband is always up to make some cheese filled naan bread, too.

Because the recipes are so simplified — except for the croissants which look amazing but has 15 steps, while the others are usually just four or five steps. The book itself is beautiful, with lovely photos throughout, and a clear layout that includes explanatory photos when needed, like with very clever Mozzarella Stuffed Bread, which reveals in one photo how it looks like Hasselback Potatoes stuffed with cheesy goodness, yet is so easily made. This is a wonderful time-saver and is a great gift to any beginning yet ambitious bakers out there!
